Polycarbonate is a tough thermoplastic resin. It is now the second largest engineering plastic, second only to polyamide. It has weak acid resistance, weak base resistance and neutral oil resistance. Polycarbonate is not resistant to ultraviolet light or alkali. Polycarbonate is colorless, transparent, heat resistant, shock resistant and has good mechanical properties at ordinary service temperatures. Although polycarbonate has many advantages, but the main performance defects are hydrolysis resistance, stability is not high enough, sensitive to the gap, resistant to organic chemicals, scratch resistance is poor, long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays will yellow. Like other resins, polycarbonate is easily dipped in some organic solvents, so polycarbonate stability is essential for modification.
